Other
observations that come to mind:
Most physically
challenged people can learn to dive. In fact diving will enrich your life
in a way that no other sport can.
If you are an asthmatic
you should not scuba dive. But you can learn snorkelling, which is just
as much fun.
If you are
a mum-to-be you should not dive. Whilst there is no evidence that diving
can hurt the unborn baby--it's best to be cautious. You can safely
learn to dive after the happy event.
I like to
keep my classes nice and small for safety reasons and maximum enjoyment
(yours and mine).
The first
part of the learn to dive course is conducted in a pool. By the time you
have completed the pool work, you will be confident, competent (and itching)
to get in the blue water.
If you need
more time in the pool (and this has never happened in the past eight years)
I will gladly give it.
There are
no sharks in the pool.
Guaranteed
no macho or reckless behaviour. My classes are conducted in a friendly,
relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

More
considerations
In my my
diving career I have never had an accident (as a diver or as an Instructor).
All of my
students are still diving and loving it. None of them has ever had a diving
accident.
As a diver
I have never been attacked by anything other than an irate fisherman (his
line got caught on my tank and he thought he had hooked the biggest fish
in his life).
I have never
seen a man (or woman) eating shark.
As a diver
I have met hundreds of fabulous people
Families
who dive together--stay together!
As a PADI
Diver
